Principal consultant - ship vetting (S006)

Job description

• The position will entail the following ship vetting-related tasks:
• Coordinating and performing SIRE ship inspections worldwide
• Monitoring and evaluating a fleet of vessels from an HSE&Q viewpoint
• Functioning as a focal point vis-à-vis shipowners/managers and other relevant parties
• Participating in marine/maritime projects
• Participating in management reviews, inspections and marine accident investigations
• Actively contributing to the development and enhancement of Statoil's shipping policies with regard to quality assurance of tonnage
• Actively contributing to the development of expertise and attitudes in HSE issues

Qualifications

• At least 5 years as a deck officer or engineer on tanker vessels (oil/OBO/LPG/LNG/chemical) of which at least 2 years as a senior officer (captain/chief mate or chief engineer/2nd engineer)
